Sitting down should be fun
Well ladies and gentleman ... that should be a true statement. The exception to it though is what I did this morning. For the first time in probably 8 or 9 years I strapped into the peddles of a bicycle. While it was stationary, for the next 45 minutes I was far from stationary. I also decided that starting with the beginner class would probably be too easy so I jump right in to the intermediate class. Lemme tell you beginner would have been a much nicer introduction after being MIA fro ma bike for that long. :)
It really wasn't as bad as it sounds because I did have the fact that I am somewhat in shape and so my aerobic system was functioning (gasping for air means it is was functioning :) ). I kept up with the climbing out of the saddle and back down for sprints, but my cadence was just aweful. I pretty much had the same speed the entire workout ... although I did try to sprint, I figured I can live to see another day or I can fall right off this stationary bike. I wonder if anyone has ever done that in the life of the stationary bike, I am sure someone has to have fallen off ... how embarassing that has to be to fall off a stationary object :) I am sure I just sealed my fate for the next class, I just hope I don't launch myself over the handlebars. All in all it was good to get at it at 5am and get a nice workout in. I came back home and laid down for an hour ... trying to get my legs the maximum amount of rest prior to the 2 mile run which is next.
